Dr. Peter Wolcott Creates an SQL Lecture

Having recorded a lecture on SQL, Dr. Wolcott uses Camtasia to produce an online lecture. Camtasia allows him to incorporate video, audio, zooming, and many other useful features.

Camtasia Technology 2

Once the lecture is produced, it can be posted online for students. A Table Of Contents allows students to navigate the lecture contents.

Dr. Paul van Vliet Builds A Lesson On Ethics

Van Vliet Online Lecture 1

Using materials from the textbook and current research, Dr. van Vliet creates a lecture in PowerPoint.

Audio and video of the lecture is then recorded using LogiTech equipment. Adding video of the instructor makes the educational experience more personal for the students.

All pieces of the lecture are then combined using the Camtasia software. At the bottom of the screen, markers are added on the lecture timeline to create chapter headings in the final lecture.

The instructor's video segment is edited and placed in the proper position on the screen.

Once the lecture is complete, it can be produced. Camtasia can output the lecture in a variety of video and audio formats.

The lecture is then placed online for students to view. The markers have been converted by Camtasia into a table of contents for the lecture.

Students use the UNO BlackBoard platform to access online lectures, assignments, and class information. BlackBoard contains many interactive and collaborative features which enhance the online learning experience.

Lessons from the lecture are reinforced using an online discussion forum. Here students can discuss current information technology-related issues and respond to each others' comments.
