Editor-in-Chief of e-Service Journal, a multi-disciplinary journal aimed at publishing high-quality, original, innovative, peer-reviewed research about the design, delivery, and impact of electronic services rendered using a variety of computing and communication technologies. The journal combines both private and public sector perspectives on electronic services and thus bridges e-business and e-government.

Member and former Secretary of AIS, the Association for Information Systems, the global professional organization for academics in the field of Information Systems. AIS now has nearly 5000 members world-wide.

Conference co-chair for AMCIS 2005, held in Omaha, Nebraska, August 11 through 14, 2005.

Member of Editorial Board of Information and Organization (formerly Accounting, Management, & Information Technologies), a journal dedicated to advancing knowledge on the relationships between information technologies and social organization.

Former Department Editor for IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, the Information Technology Department, 1998-2000.

Served for several years on the Executive Committee of the Organizational Communication and Information Systems (OCIS) Division of the Academy of Management. OCIS is an interdisciplinary group of people interested in the intersection of communication issues with information technology. Examples of topics that we study include verbal, nonverbal and electronic communication, executive information systems, intergroup and intragroup communication, DSS and GDSS, communication networks, and communication and organizational culture.
