Service to the Community

  • Website administrator for the Omaha-based Information Technology Council (ITC). The purpose of the ITC is to provide a local forum for the exchange of ideas and knowledge in the rapidly changing field of information technologies. The ITC website is hosted on the servers of the College of IS&T. The website is continuously updated with meeting announcements, event announcements, and minutes from past meetings.   • Provide substantial benefits to Omaha-area business and organizations through project management efforts for ISQA 4120. Annually, some 20 systems development projects are performed for commercial and non-profit organizations by ISQA students. Many of these projects are subsequently adopted and used by these organizations. In the past year, commercial organizations benefiting from these projects include LifeCom International, Extreme Enterprises Lawncare, Phevik Plumbing, Monical's Lawn Service, Sterling Computers Corporation, Ehrling Berquist Optometry Clinic, Saigon Restaurant, McClannahan Farms, Baxter-Kenworthy Electric, Inc., Midwest Professional Lawn Care, Stars 66 Gas Station, Executive Lawn and Landscaping, Midwest Eye Care, Maun-Lemke Consulting, Anderson Computer & Electronics, and Mac Rae Productions. In the past year, non-profit organizations benefiting from these projects include Heartland Camp Quality, UNO College of IS&T, Offutt Air Force Base, UNO Human Resources Department, UNO HPER, and Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
  • Serve as session chair and reviewer for papers submitted to the Annual Meetings of the Decision Sciences Institute. 2000 - present.
